Charles, a retired man, finds a new lease on life when he answers a private investigator’s ad and becomes a mole in a secret investigation into a nursing home. Remake of ΞΟ ΟΟΞΉΞΊΟΟ ΟΟάκΟΞΏΟΞ±Ο (2020). Ted Danson, about 76 years old, plays Charles, about 76 years old, a retired engineering professor and resident of San Francisco.
This one is actually very clean and consequently more enjoyable
He is also the producer of this series that stands out from most by avoiding the all-too-common dirty language dialogues. In the story his wife had died perhaps a year ago due to the effects of Alzheimer’s. He is healthy but perhaps bored with his daily routine.
Looking for someone in the 75-85 age range for a specific job
He has a habit of reading periodicals and newspapers and often cuts out an interesting one to send to his married daughter in Sacramento. One day, through a hole cut out, he sees a small and short ad. This leads him to a private investigator hired by a man whose mother is in some sort of luxury retirement home in San Francisco, some significant jewelry has been stolen and the son.
wants the thief caught
Charles will be the key, so he is hired to watch the place, observe and report back as Ted Danson is the perfect person for this role which he plays with a lot of humor. Soon it becomes less about who the thief was and more about the relationships. The cast of characters is played by a bunch of good actors, many of them old favorites we have known for the last 50 years or so.
My wife and I enjoyed it, streaming it
After watching the first three episodes one night, we watched the last five episodes in one sitting after our usual Saturday night steak and wine dinner. The finale sets up for a sequel, I hope they make it one of the funniest we have watched.
