Costner seems to have filled his character’s shoes naturally
"Yellowstone" The small introduction builds quickly, but its story progresses at the natural pace of a desert day, pausing for tribal tales, cowboy traditions, and political intrigue. It’s a far-reaching movement that weaves together the seams between law and justice, family and friendship. He’s a world-weary man who’s seen too much and lied too often.
Country and family are his lifeblood
He hears footsteps approaching, but he can only play his unfamiliar role as much as loyalty. While some of the action is a little confusing due to the lack of explanation, it feels genuine to the viewer. A slice of life peeks into another world.
We learn the whole story from root to fruit
I hope the resolution of this story includes an emotional payoff that reflects its scope and attention to detail. Update 7/20/2018: After four episodes, the series has a strong voice and relentless rhythm. I got my rating of "9" growing up
